It still amazes me the amount of really poorly designed websites that are out there and that I still have to trawl through in the hope of getting exactly what I am looking for. You know the type, when the front page is too full of text and images that are shouting at you and it is nigh on impossible to find exactly what it is you’re looking for. You know what happens next? You’ve lost me, a potential customer, and how many others?
Website design has transformed in the last couple of years. All websites need to be responsive, providing an optimal user experience on a standard screen as well as on a mobile device. Website design is now clean, simple, image based, with a clear site map for an impeccably effective user journey. If your website is not designed in this way how much business are you missing out on?
Once you have your responsive website you can use analytics to see what your users are searching for and tailor the site in accordance with this. Your website needs to be looked on as something that needs to be constantly and relentlessly maintained, monitored and updated so that you get the best out of it. It has lots of potential, you just need to tap into it in the right way and it’s future is bright.
